Masonry Program

BDWstrives to maintain the workforce of qualified masons throughout the state of Wisconsin , which is vital to our industry. The Construction Academy and Masonry Program are two vehicles BDW uses to educate teachers and students about choosing masonry as a career.

The Construction Academy is an annual Masonry Education Program and a continuing education training event designed to provide high school and college teachers with classroom and hands-on experience in various phases of the masonry construction industry. The goal of the Construction Academy is to educate other teachers and students about masonry as a career. By attending the program, it allows teachers to conduct an introductory masonry education program for students throughout the state.

A Masonry Program is offered at three technical colleges throughout the state - Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College , Southwest Wisconsin Technical College and Waukesha County Technical College have graduated a total of 276 students, since the program began in 1993. This nine-month program is designed to teach students the knowledge and skills necessary for job entry into the fields of bricklaying and masonry in residential and commercial construction. Below are some successful statistics from the Masonry Program offered throughout the state.

The Masonry Technology Foundation of Wisconsin, Inc. (MTFW) was developed to raise funds to continually support scholarships for this program and provides scholarships to qualified students. See additional information on the site… http://www.mtfw.org/
