Who We Are: BDW is a statewide association representing brick distributors, manufacturers and companies providing products and services to the industry.

The mission of BDW is to advance the use of, and promote the advantages of, clay brick masonry, to design professionals, contractors and the general public through marketing, education and industry participation.
How you benefit
Opportunity to meet others in the industry, your competitors, your customers, and your suppliers at three meetings each year held normally in January, June, September at various locations throughout the state.
Support of Vocational Training - BDW was instrumental in the establishment of three technical college masonry programs in Wisconsin . BDW members provided time, materials and financial support to initiate the programs. This support is on going .
BDW supports programs to recruit high school level students to participate in the technology college programs. This includes conducting the annual Construction Academy , a masonry training program for high school vocational teachers.
BDW supports the Masonry Technology Foundation of Wisconsin (MTFW), which provides scholarships to technical school students in the masonry training programs.
Promotion of Clay Brick - BDW promotes use of clay brick through trade shows, including booths at AIA -Wisconsin, WASB and WAPA, advertising in trade journals and on radio and television and direct mailing of literature and technical information to design build professionals.
Members Rights & Responsibilities
Membership is held in the name of the Company. Each paying Company is considered a separate member and holds a separate vote.
Designate one member as the primary contact.This individual will hold the vote for that company. Also, each company is advised to name an alternate. This alternate member should be familiar with BDW available to attend in the place of the primary member. Any number of members may attend the three annual BDW membership meetings.
Attend BDW meetings.To receive the most benefit from your membership, and to receive an update on activities, it is important to have a representative at each BDW meeting.
Pay all dues promptly. The funding for all BDW programs comes from you as a member. All members pay $150 in annual dues. In addition, Regular (Distributor) and Associate Manufacturer members pay to support the promotional activities with dues based on a portion of their sales.
Regular (Distributor) promotion dues: Regular members shall contribute $1.00/M standard-modular brick equivalent, with a maximum contribution of $5,000. By March 31 st, Regular members must report their prior year’s sales. The promotion dues are then calculated and billed quarterly during the current calendar year.
Regular (Distributor) Manufacturer reporting forms: Regular members are expected to report EVERY MONTH the amount of brick purchased from Associate Manufacturer members. This information is used to calculate the Associate Brick Manufacturer promotion dues.
Associate Brick Manufacturer promotion dues: Associate Brick Manufacturer members shall contribute one quarter (1/4) of one percent (1%) of their current year sales as reported by Regular Members. This contribution will be invoiced quarterly.
To maintain confidentiality of all information, dues are billed and collected by BDW accounting firm of Johnson Block, CPAs.
In addition to membership dues, BDW receives a small grant from the Great Lakes Cement Shippers Association (GLCPA) to support vocational training activities.
